The Ai Yu Jelly fig (Creeping fig)
The creeping fig can be found on some pedestrian bridges in Singapore. The seeds are used to make Ai Yu jelly (Oh Gio in Hokkien and Wan Tao Long in Cantonese).
Ai Yu jelly is usually eaten with sugar syrup, lime juice and shaved ice in Singapore.
The almost ripe figs are cut into halves and dried in the sun to dry. When it is dried the seeds are scraped from the thick shell and packed into bag for selling.
Below are picture of the creeping fig plant and fruits.
